The Truth

There’s a letter circulating in Ryan that claims Labor has a plan for a western bypass.

The Liberal Party has invented this story.  This claim is not true.  They are telling voters falsehoods.

The claim that Labor is planning a bypass through the western suburbs is a lie.

They are desperate to hold onto the seat of Ryan and are obviously prepared to say and do anything to win.

The Queensland Government has a public process to resolve Western Brisbane’s transport issues: there is no Labor plan for a western bypass – there is a very open State Government process to consider whether one is needed at all – and no decisions have been made.

The only party with a plan for a freeway through the western suburbs is the Liberals – they didn’t threaten the Goodna Bypass before the last election, and we’ve got no idea what their plans are for the next term.

This dishonest and untruthful letter frightens people, and should be withdrawn and an apology offered.
